I can’t tell you exactly what I blog about because I’m still trying to figure it out. I write because I feel like I have something to say, and I am working out exactly how and what I want to say. I’m a little late to the blogging party, I know, but I thank you for sticking it out with me.
A little bit about my life so you have an idea of what to expect when you stop by here. My name is Shannon and my site was inspired by the 2 dogs in my life, because, honestly I am not that creative when it comes to short snippets (I hate twitter! But have one @sidandrooney) and was not trying to brand myself. I heeded the suggestion of Steve, my wickedly amazing husband, to start this blog because over the last year I decided to stop being boring and amassed a range of hobbies and I wanted to be apart of the communities that surround my hobbies (photography, Project Life, knitting, quilting, and card making). We live in Texas, 1,100 miles away from all of my family and most of Steve’s. We will be moving (back) across the country this spring and I will be keeping up with our adventures here. I swear like a sailor in real life, but try to keep it tame-ish here. I am an alumna of The Ohio State University (and yes the The is important) and my degree has afforded me the opportunity to continue my professional passion, which is working with seniors and people with disabilities.
Steve is wonderful. He is a fantastic musician, can light anyone on fire in a political debate and is working to find a career now that he is post-bac. I will talk about him. I also photograph his guitars from time to time (I believe we are still in the middle of guitar roulette) and if you have questions about that feel free to ask in the comments (or email sidandrooney at gmail dot com) and I will ask him to answer them. You can also follow his blog about living in Texas here.
Other things I have strong opinions about – being a vegetarian, women’s rights, being part of a BRCA 1 family, living in Texas, scrapbooking, Project Life, being newly married. And while I know that none of this is “new” it’s new to me or really awesome to me, so I’m going to talk about it. If you’d like to see more of me, Steve, or our dogs you can follow me on Instagram @sidandrooney.
